If you think sex feels good, then just imagine sex without the worry of sexual disease or unwanted pregnancies. Condoms take away that stress.
February is not only the month of love, but also of condom awareness.
Double-duty protection
Condoms are a simple yet effective way of safeguarding your and your partner’s health. They’re the ONLY contraception providing both:
- Protection: Aside from avoiding sex altogether, condoms are the most effective way to prevent sexually transmitted infections (STI) like chlamydia, gonorrhoea and HIV.
- Prevention: When used correctly, they’re up to 98% effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy.
Top tips for condom confidence
- Choose wisely: The right fit makes a difference to application, enjoyment and safety.
- Practice makes perfect: Get used to opening, unrolling and using condoms so you’re not nervous about fumbling in the heat of the moment.
- Lube up: Water- or silicon-based lubrication makes for a safer, more comfortable experience and reduces condom breakage risk. Avoid oil-based lubricants (e.g. baby oil); they damage condoms.
- Dispose discreetly: After removing the used condom, tie a knot in the end, wrap in a tissue and pop it in the trash.
- One and done: Never reuse a condom, not even if you rinse it.
